Puliyankadawala Raja Maha Vihara

The Puliyankadawala Raja Maha Vihara, situated at Puliyankadawala in the Punchivilattawa Grama Niladhari Division of Chilaw Divisional Secretariat in the Puttalam District is also known as Devram Vehera. The buildings of this monastery, which could be traced back to the Anuradhapura period are in ruins. Most of the buildings in the temple premises had been built recently. Whilst a new Dagoba had been built where the ancient Dagoba existed, ancient bricks, remnants of moonstones and a Buddha image belonging to the Anuradhapura period have been found in the premises.
