Budugalge is in the Koneketiya village in the Buttala Divisional Secretariat Division of the Monaragala District of the Uva Province.
It is to the right of the Buttala-Kataragama road 4½ km away from Buttala.
Budugalge is on an escarpment surrounded by the jungle. A long flight of stone steps leading to a large cave is situated in the site and the images of a reclining Buddha and a seated Buddha are found in it. The other image found in the cave is believed to be a statue of king Dutugemunu. North of the cave are some smaller caves with inscriptions in Brahmi characters.
